About Salmonometer

Salmonometer is a digital learning and research ecosystem designed to help students and researchers in aquaculture shift from paper-based and Web 2.0 tools to modern, Web 3.0-ready platforms.

This system was built from real academic experience, shaped by the challenges faced during my studies at Tribhuvan University (Nepal) and the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). While pursuing my master’s in Zoology and later in Aquaculture, I realized how outdated and inefficient many learning and research workflows still are.

Through self-driven learning in coding, data analysis, visualization, and AI/ML, I’ve developed Salmonometer, a practical solution to empower the next generation of aquaculture professionals with modern, accessible digital tools.

The System

• 📊 Salmonometer Dashboard: Records and analyzes data on welfare indicators, production, water quality, lice count, product quality, nutrient profile, and QIM.
• 🥣 Salmonometer Feed Formula: A feed formulation tool based on cost, nutritional goals, or other objectives.
• 🧬Salmonometer GenBreed Simulator: Helps learners explore how selective breeding works in fish farming by simulating genetic improvements and visualizing key outcomes like trait enhancement and inbreeding risk.
• 🧮 Salmonometer Production Plan: For designing smolt and net-pen production cycles.
